Welcome to safeguard stories from GWA. I'm Clyde de Souza and I travel and review the best of glass places and activities come experience these cigars shots when I go to spontaneous when I want the hug of a familiar friend when I long for the tangy comfort of a Bangalore ratio up when I miss going to bar man's toothy smile. In this episode of cigar shots I will tell you how I do for 10 years. The built in 1700 Latin Quarter in pendulum gua you may have heard of it. You may have walked it's narrow lanes. Hell, you may even have got a stern shout from its residence. So here's my version of the phone 10 years walk. I go to 14 years when I have a free day and go off. Or if I watched a movie at I Know expansion and would like nothing more than a leisurely stroll where I visit my favorite haunts. Walking through Fontaine years reminds me of Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris. And I also hope that someday a walk down a particular lane will also take me back in time into a tavern which will be filled with going giants of the past. Maybe this is why I keep returning to Fontaine. Yes. I generally start my walk at RWA the origin which means river of gold. The river is next to a small bridge or Pato it's your that I once visited chef Bosco Sylvie era at his awesome horseshoe restaurant, and he gave me a whiff of his homemade breshad masala lane next to the river also has some other choice restaurants like down the road, the outpost and newly opened miski bar. But I headed in the opposite direction towards St. Sebastian chapel, a three tire chapel that stands gloriously in between colorful heritage homes. I go you're not so much to find anything new. But to check if the familiar 300 year old homes are still there. One time while walking towards the rainbow stairs, I saw an old resident in her Iberian home, playing the violin. She looked at me with what seemed like 100 year old eyes, then continued playing her melancholy Mundo from your I head towards Ruia 31 de Janiero, at which point I am left with two choices, I can eat at my favorite Viva Panjim restaurant, where I love any dish served by owner and chef Linda de Souza. The restaurant which was once her home is filled with her family photographs and artifacts. And it feels like you're eating at a welcoming aunties home, giving you the warmth and comfort you crave for. If I don't eat at Viva panjin I always make it a point to stop at the next door curio shop Marco artifacts. I love their azulejo tiles and other knickknacks. I then walk further down to our 31 the January, which was so named as to commemorate Portugal's independence from Spain on 31st January and 1614. I passed by a dilapidated house next to cafe Marang. Go and turn into Gomez Pereira road. This leads me to my second choice. The very popular Fanny Devon called Joseph's bar. It's a hole in the wall in a dilapidated building but it's a beautiful little community bath, which has GWAS Instagram famous bartender don't do bar man. And they also serve some awesome snacks and cocktails. Good news warm welcome and ever smiling face goes really well with each release bow and their camera Rosa cocktail. A delicious mix of fairy and kokum syrup and a whole lot more. While I sip my feeling the sunsets dipping into the Mundo era. And my 14 years work is done. I have another Tumblr result in the hope that may be the Fini will turn back time and a famous go on from centuries ago. We'll walk into Joseph power. But that will be a story for another cigar shot. So here's my takeaway of the spontaneous walk. Book one of the Heritage walks it's more organized and you'll meet the locals eat at Viva pendulum drink at Joseph's spa. Look out for architectural elements like mother of pearl windows. Roosters on rooftops and azulejo nameplates. Big up some go and knickknacks from Marco artifacts. Be respectful of the residents. And yes, put your camera away once in a while and experience the colorful old go and chop my cigar rating four out of five if you have your own stories of form changes I'd love to hear about them till then Moga soon and see you on the next episode hope you enjoyed this say God shot don't forget to rate review and follow this podcast.
