Welcome to cigars stories from Guam. I'm Clyde de Souza and I travel and give you best of glass places and activities. Come experience these two cigars shots with me.

00:20

When was the last time you went on an adventure in the outdoors with some amount of risk? I'm guessing it was some time ago. In this episode of cigar shots, I'll tell you about my family adventure that I embark on every year. In the north garden village of commonly, it involves thorny bushes, scary red ends, and a sour fruit caulker wonder which I love.

00:50

You know how everyone is always saying that they love nature, the outdoors, the trees. Well, that may be true. But even more true is that we love the outdoors from the comfort of the indoors. This is because nature is wild. It's harsh, and it's uncomfortable. Me and my family find this out every year when we go for the church feast at my uncle's village and commonly commonly is a yet untouched by tourism village in Guam. And every year in the hot month of May, three generations of my family descend on our ancestral house. The house is on top of a sloping hill. It has a bow cow and two stony seats. But it's the area opposite the house that brings us our annual adventure and this story. It's an afternoon tryst with nature.

01:52

See opposite the house is a wild growth of Karwa berries. Now this Kharbanda shrub is not like a magnificent mango tree. It doesn't command your attention. It doesn't flaunt its golden fruit will seduce you with its aroma. Instead, the corona Bush is almost miscible it grows thick and wild among weeds, red ends and its berries cling to its branches which are filled with thorns. And therefore the shrub is also called Christ's tone. The fruit itself is a sticky Berry and tastes good with some salt or when it's made into a pickle. Now on this hot sticky and humid afternoon, uncles aunts, nephews, nieces, and sometimes even little kids. All of us make our way up the slope to get a taste of the outdoors. Our price is the sticky Kirwin that berry which we will eat after lunch.

02:59

The shrub grows among weeds, and we have to be careful of the red and that's thing. So we arm ourselves with T shirts tied as bandanas, some sticks, and a couple of baskets for our curva bounty.

03:14

My uncle Auggie leads the way and older cousins bend and break some of the thorny branches so the little kids can get to the Curva fruit. There are shots of the answer biting and the tongs are poking. But we continue onwards deeper and deeper into the take, like children of Narnia. For that one hour. We have forgotten our phones, and our city comforts. We pretend like our lives depend on getting the car Vanga the group works together with the focused goal of getting a basket full of fruits. Once done, we come down the slope like warriors returning from war with our hearts pounding and the joy of having actually hand picked our desert.

04:07

It may not sound like much and like I said nature is uncomfortable. But the adventure that we get out of it makes the car wonder. One of my most memorable fruits not so much for its taste, but how it brings the family together.

04:27

So that's my good one that treasure hunt say God style. If you have your own single family adventure, I'd love to your thank you for listening Morga Sue and see you on the next episode of cigar shops
